I purchased it from Angling Direct for a three-rod setup but decided to keep a two-rod setup instead, so this reel is surplus to requirements Please note: This reel is brand new and has never been used. It was previously returned by a buyer who believed the bail arm should automatically close when the handle is turned. Shimano’s Speedmaster XTD is designed so that the bail arm is intended to be closed manually, which is a normal safety feature on this style of big pit reel to help prevent accidental closure during casting. Please ensure you are familiar with the operation of this type of reel before purchasing.
